Researchers Find World’s Smallest Snake

Spaghetti Snake Anyone?

Researchers have found the world’s smallest snake in the Caribbean island of Barbados.  It is called the Leptotyphlops carlae.  It grows to only four inches long, and is born at two inches long.  The females lay a single egg.  Think about it the females lay an egg that contains an offspring that is half their body-size.  Yikes!  That’s like a woman carrying around a 60 pound baby during pregnancy.  Not fun.  I don’t about you, but small snakes creep me out more than the giant ones.  I’d rather come across a 20-foot python than this snake any day of the week.  Tiny creatures scare the crap out of me.
